Decorating a room can sometimes be a challenge. It can be get expensive to buy a lot of different pieces of furniture. One piece of furniture that can add to the overall look and feel of a room is a side table. This can be useful because it can hold lamps, magazines, coasters and many other things. It can be a beautiful piece of furniture but that does not mean it has to break the bank. Below are a few of the ways that you can get a side table inexpensively.
Ways to Get a Cheap Side Table
1. Build Your Own. You may just want a simple side table or you may want to build something more creative and fun. Either way, with just the cost of materials and some time, you will be able to build your own side table for much cheaper than you would be able to buy one. This also gives you a lot of flexibility to build exactly what you want. This can take some time and can be quite involved depending on the type of side table you make, but it is doable for almost anyone who is willing to put in the time and effort. For example, you could make a table out of old pallets or crates. You can sand these down, put some legs on them and paint them with a beautiful finish.
2. Refinish. Another great way to get a side table that can be beautiful and unique is to find a cheap side table at a garage sale or thrift store and fix it up to fit the style of your home. Even a beat up and ugly piece of furniture can be transformed into a beautiful and functional side table. This is not always easy and can take a lot of work but the results can be outstanding. By sanding down the old table and painting it with a new finish, it can look as good as new.
3. Purchase. Good looking furniture does not always have to be expensive. There are second hand stores, consignment stores, online classifieds, and cheap furniture stores where beautiful cheap side tables can be purchased that are already ready to go without putting any work in. In a consignment store, for example, someone who is skilled and able to refinish and build side tables may have put a lot of work in a table that they are not trying to sell. These can be beautiful pieces that are well below traditional retail prices.
These are just a few of the ways that you can get a cheap side table. There is no reason why you should not be able to get a great piece of furniture at a great price.
